Took my fiancee to the Orlando show at the House of Blues April 19 and loved it. She's from Nashville and knows her stuff band-wise. We were both impressed with the bigness and immediacy, of the band's live sound. They played loose enough to make no mistake this is a blues band, and tight enough for rock at the same time.

We thought it was great staging to put Patrick Carney out front and to turn him so the audience could actually see his powerful but precisely controlled drumming. I've also never seen anyone play a cymbal by striking *with* a tambourine before, so that was cool.

The energy this power twosome puts out is just amazing -- we noticed a tech coming out to push the drum equipment back on the riser as it gradually slid forward due to Carney's sheer fury.

Dan Auerbach always managed to sound like there was a rhythm guitar onstage beside him somehow, and maybe another lead and a bass as well. It was powerful sound, but nuanced, with a wide range of dynamics and tempos.

I didn't take down the set list, but I'm a fan of the Stagger Lee interpretation "Stack Shot Billy" and it was defintitely a highlight, along with "Your Touch," "Have Love, Will Travel," and the last encore song I'd been waiting for -- "Till I Get My Way."

There was a great sold-out crowd despite the April rainstorm, and I think we reflected a nice chunk of the band's energy back.

Thanks for coming to Orlando, gentlemen. Please come back and see us.

I got tickets to this show as a somewhat early birthday present, and it was easily the best concert I've ever been to. I was fortunate enough to be in the front row- right in front of Dan! I've taped a lot of the concert and posted it on Youtube, but no camera could properly capture that experience.

Even though it felt a little strange being the youngest member in the audience, (and constantly being crowd surfed over), seeing Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach play out their hearts and souls will guarentee that this concert will be eternally embedded into my 15 year old mind.
