Hey there Brothers, (loving the new Album by the way).
I'm not going to the above festival because it is bloody awful. I'm not surprised you guys are playing but disapointed because I'll miss your show.
This Festival attracts kids who care little about music that is not topping the charts and rammed down their ears. I'm predicting you'll find few at your show and those that will be, will probably be there because it's raining outside the tent.
Sorry to be a pessimist but it's the nature of this particular festival. You'll be one of many great bands that a very small percentage of the audience will appreciate. It's a classic case of wrong bands at wrong festival, which I place squarely on the Promoters who are arrogant, powerful and greedy on this wee Island.
May I suggest you play another gig in the city of Dublin, (which is very close to the festival) on the same day? I'm sure it's not impossible and you'll reach all those fans who'd love to see you but not at the above festival.
I do hope you will consider my idea?
In the mean time have an enjoyable and successful tour of Europe and I'll look forward to seeing you play here but under better arrangements.
Many thanks,
Drumboogie / Dublin Ireland
Got to agree with Drumboogie here. It's a real shame you guys aren't playing a gig of your own in Dublin. Saw you here a few years back and would sincerely love to again, but will never pay (like I suspect many other Black Keys fans here) the exorbitant prices to go to the Oxegen festival.
Keep rockin it. G
I concur with the two above, I would love you's to play a lone gig in Dublin. We've got some brilliant and quaint and intimate venues. Like in old style theatres. But, nothing makes me more angry than selfish people and the promoters of Oxegen are certainly in that catagory. I really love your analog, raw type sound and your Harmony guitars are beautiful. It would be super to see you.
Everything is Music, man.
Just play on you're own here, it'd be frickin' brilliant, hell if you need a place to stay you can crash at my house :)
What time are you guys playing? I've got a day ticket and don't want to miss yous!!
